The Municipality of Brockton invites qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Parks Maintainer. Reporting to the Facilities and Parks Supervisor the Summer Parks Maintainer will assist with the maintenance of the municipality’s parks, sports fields, trails and Community Centre for the summer and fall months.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with previous experience in landscaping or horticulture considered an asset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of Brockton’s sports fields, parks, trails and Community Centre.
- Horticultural related tasks including planting, watering, weeding gardens and hanging baskets.
- General custodial duties within park facilities including maintenance of public washroom facilities and emptying garbage bins.
- Safe and efficient operation/maintenance of Parks equipment including lawn mowers, gas trimmers, hand tools, utility tractors and automobiles.
- Assist with the set up and tear down of events hosted at Brockton facilities.
- Customer service to Brockton’s guests at Lobies Campground where office duties include registration, handling of financial transactions and public inquiries. Opening and closing duties, and serving the public in the daily operations of the Visitor Information Centre in Lobies Park.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Previous experience in landscaping or horticulture is considered an asset.
- A team player with the ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suits.
- Current or ability to obtain Standard First Aid & CPR C/AED.
- Valid Drivers License in good standing.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Security Check.
Hours of Work:
Flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings and weekends with up to 40 hours per week, subject to recreation demands.

What we offer you:
- Contract Term – April 16, 2025 – October 24, 2025
- Compensation- $23.85 - $27.89 per hour
