Taxi Licences
You must have a valid municipal taxi driver's licence to operate a taxi, limousine, or other motor vehicles for hire in the Municipality of Brockton. Each driver and vehicle requires a separate licence.
Taxi companies must also meet all conditions within the Municipality of Brockton's Taxi Licencing By-Laws:
- By-Law 2005-21 - Taxi Licencing By-Law
- By-Law 2006-12 - Amend Taxi Licencing By-Law
- By-Law 2024-089 - Amend Taxi Licencing By-Law
Application for a Taxi Licence
In order to receive a licence from the Municipality, taxi companies must submit the following documentation to ensure that vehicles are in safe working order and that drivers have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check and acceptable driving record. Taxi drivers are required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening Certificate every two years. Please allow up to 90 days for your checks from the Ontario Provincial Police.
Only Taxi Licence Applications submitted with complete paperwork and all necessary documents will be accepted. Complete applications will be processed within one week of receipt.
Please note: 2024 Taxi Licence expiry dates have been extended to January 31, 2025. 2025 Taxi Licences will be issued as of February 1, 2025 until January 31, 2026.

2025 Fees are effective as of February 1, 2025 as per By-Law 2024-070 - 2025 Fees and Charges
