Dog license fees are set annually and invoices are mailed to registered dog owners. Dog owners listed on the register will be invoiced in January annually as per the fees prescribed by the Municipal Consolidated Fee By-Law.
Upon the death, sale or other disposal of the dog, the tag shall be returned to the Municipality of Brockton prior to March 1 following the January invoices when the invoiced amount shall be cancelled. Any outstanding or late payments after March 1 shall be added to the final tax bill.
License fees are due April 1 each year and a late fee is applied to each overdue tag.
In 2014, permanent dog tags were issued to all registered dogs in Brockton. From 2015 forward all registered dog owners receive their annual invoice by mail and dogs continue to wear their permanent tag.
