How to Apply for a Building Permit
- The Municipality of Brockton offers residents, builders, and the business community e-permitting through Cloudpermit - an online system to apply for and track your building permits.
- Cloudpermit building permit system allows you to apply for and to see the status of your application anywhere and at any time. You can start an application and finish it later, and receive email updates on the status of your permit application. You can even request building inspections!

Mail, Email or In Person
- Permit applications can also be made through the mail, email (provided at the bottom of the page) or in person at the Municipal Office by printing and completing all required forms, and submitting them with your project drawings.
You need to submit an application for a building permit if you want to:
- Construct a new building or structure;
- Additions, repairs, renovations, or demolish all or part of an existing building;
- Build a deck;
- Erect a sign;
- Alter most buildings and structures on your property;
- Install a new septic system.
All applications are reviewed for compliance with the Ontario Building Code and Zoning By-law requirements. See Forms and Fees page for applicable forms to accompany your application.
