If you are actively farming land and want to set or maintain a fire incidental to farm use, you must contact the Municipal Office at least 24 hours before setting the fire.
Permission to burn a fire incidental to farming, is issued for a maximum of two consecutive days. If weather postpones you from burning on your permitted days, please call back to request another permission.
Once a permit is authorized, notification is sent to the By-Law Enforcement Officer and Fire Chief.
Please note: A fire or burn permission may be cancelled at any time by the Chief Fire Official, or designate, and immediately upon receiving notice of such cancellation the permitted individual shall extinguish any fire started under the permit.
