Committee Member Recruitment

Are you interested in giving back to the community and helping to shape Brockton’s future? Come help by providing your input and expertise on one of our Committees! The Municipality of Brockton is currently recruiting for members on four (4) Committees: Accessibility Advisory Committee, Brockton Child Care Centre Committee, Brockton Parks and Recreation Committee, and Elmwood Community Centre Board.

Accessibility Advisory Committee: Are you interested in advocating for the needs and rights of persons with disabilities? Join the Accessibility Advisory Committee who fulfill requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 by providing vision and advice to Council to create an accessible and inclusive community.

Brockton Child Care Committee: Are you passionate about providing an environment where children are provided the opportunity to experience social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth? Join the Brockton Child Care Centre Committee! The Committee supports the goals of the Brockton Child Care Centre in creating environment that helps young children get the best start in life through high quality early learning experiences. 

Brockton Parks and Recreation Committee: Help shape the future of recreation in Brockton by serving on the Brockton Parks and Recreation Committee! The Committee advises and supports the Community Services (Parks and Recreation) Department on providing leisure and recreation services throughout the Municipality, and ensuring communication with the public on parks, trails, and recreational needs.

Elmwood Community Centre Board: Advocate for the community of Elmwood by serving on the Elmwood Community Centre Board, a joint collaboration between the Municipalities of Brockton and West Grey. The Board manages the operations of the Elmwood Lions Park, Elmwood Community Centre, ball diamonds, and adjoining parklands. The individual appointed to the Board would serve a vacancy as Brockton’s community representative.

If you’re interested in serving on either Committee, please send a letter outlining how you feel you can contribute to the Committee, including qualifications and background that would be helpful in fulfilling the Committee’s mandate, along with your name and contact information, to Director of Legislative and Legal Services (Clerk) Fiona Hamilton by email, drop off a letter to the Municipal Office, or send a letter by mail to Municipality of Brockton 100 Scott Street, P.O. Box 68, Walkerton, ON N0G 2V0. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Noon.
