Council Meeting Highlights - February 25, 2025

• Walkerton Homecoming 2026 presented their business plan to Council in preparation for the 155th Homecoming July 30-August 3, 2026.
• Council supported the Kinsmen Club of Walkerton’s request to rename the Walkerton Central “Tot Lot” Park as the Walkerton Kinsmen Tot Lot Park and recognized the historic contributions from both the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs towards the maintenance of the park.
• Comments were provided on Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority’s Environmental Planning and Regulation Policies Manual update.
• A Tax Increment Equivalent Funding Program through the Community Improvement Plan was adopted, which will incentivize the development of rental units through grant assistance.

Upcoming Council Meetings

• The Tuesday, March 18, 2025 Council Meeting has been rescheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.  following a Public Meeting to consider the Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Review at 6:00 p.m. and a Committee of Adjustment Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
• The Tuesday, April 8, 2025 Council Meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m.

These meetings will be held in a hybrid format in-person at the Bruce County Council Chambers (30 Park Street, Walkerton) and electronically on Zoom and livestreamed to the Municipality of Brockton's Agenda Management Software, eSCRIBE. 

Meeting Information

Brockton Council meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.
