Winter in Brockton

Cross County Ski Trails

Municipality of Brockton's cross country ski trails are located along the Saugeen River Trail (between Tim Horton's and West River Road in Walkerton), and also in Riverbend Park. Cross County Ski Trail Map. 

Skating Loop

The Outdoor Skating Loop is located at The Walkerton Community Centre, most often during the month of January. The opening of the Skating Loop is weather dependent; please stay posted on Brockton's social media accounts. Full details can be found below.

The Outdoor Skating Loop is currently Open! The Skating Loop is dependent on weather conditions, and all updates will be posted on social media. Please note, snow clearing on "The Loop" will be reduced when temperatures are warmer. 

Location: Behind the Walkerton Community Centre (290 Durham St. W, Walkerton ON). Please put skate on at the picnic tables or dugout directly behind the arena. 

Skating Loop Guidelines:

    • Obey all posted signs
    • No horseplay
    • CSA approved helmets recommended
    • Hockey and/or sporting equipment is not permitted 
    • No toe picking
    • Use permitted only during posted hours
    • Trail is slippery, only patrons with skates permitted
    • Animals are prohibited on ice surface
    • Trail is unsupervised, children must be accompanied by an adult

Washrooms are available at the Walkerton Community Centre. Skate rentals are not available. 

Cross County Ski Trails are currently open, maintained by The Walkerton Fire Fighters Association. Please review the Ski Trail Map prior to skiing!
