Local Programs for Seniors

The Twilight Seniors Group (Walkerton)

The Twilight Seniors Group meets every Wednesday and Friday at The Bruce County Library (Walkerton Branch); Location: 253 Durham St. E, Walkerton ON. Please contact the group organizer for more information, Deb Cassidy 519-881-9455.

Euchre on Wednesday's 1:30 - 4:00pm and SOLO on Friday's 1:30 - 4:00pm 

Ladies Bridge (Walkerton)

Ladies Bridge meets every Monday at The Bruce County Library (Walkerton Branch); Location: 253 Durham St. E, Walkerton ON. Please contact the group organizer for more information, Denise Desroches 519-378-7317.

Greenock Seniors Euchre

The Greenock Seniors hold Euchre on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (except July and August) at the only church in Pinkerton, starting at 1:00 pm. We are always looking new members and Euchre players. You do not have to be a club member to attend our Euchre.  Please contact David Bradley 519-366-2685.

Elmwood Seniors

The Elmwood Seniors Group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month for Solo, Euchre and Crokinole at the Elmwood Community Centre (38 Concession Rd. 10). Entry is $3, with a cold potluck. Please contact the group organizer for more information, Joan Hofermehl, 519-477-0040.

Young at Heart (Chepstow)

The Young at Heart Seniors Group meets every Monday (September - May) for Euchre and Solo, at the Chepstow Lions Club Hall (444 Chepstow Rd, Walkerton ON), from 1:30 - 4:00pm. Please contact the group organizer for more information, 2Cyndy Abell 519-366-2317.

Refunds and Cancellations | How to Register

Refunds will be available for customers within the first 14 days after registration. 

If registration occurs less than 14 days before the start of the program, refunds will not be available. 

Cancellations received after the 14 days, but more than 14 days before the start date of the program or activity can transfer their registration to alternative program. If no alternative is available, or if the cancellation is for exceptional reasons a credit may be applied to the customers account. This credit has no expiry. 

Cancellations occurring less than 14 days before the start of the program will receive no refund or credit. 

Cancellations and refund requests should be received in writing via email.

Please Note: 
  • Low course enrollment may result in the cancellation of a program. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any class, times, fees, instructor or location if necessary. Every effort will be made to avoid these changes.
  • Should 3 or more swimming lesson cancellations occur in one session a make-up class will be scheduled. 

Please Note: The Municipality of Brockton reserves the right to cancel any class or program due to unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, arrangements will be made to reschedule any missed classes cancelled by the Municipality.

In-Person Registration: 

You can register in-person at the Walkerton Community Centre, 290 Durham Street West in Walkerton during operational hours. Cash, cheque, debit and credit are accepted. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Once logged into your Online Recreation Account, choose the "Register Here" tab to browse program categories to find what you are looking for. 

Note: While you can browse, programs may not be available for purchase until the registration start date. 

A valid email address, contact name, date of birth, address and emergency contacts are needed to create an online account. Once your account has been created you will need a credit card to for registrations online. 

Registration will be available at the registration start date. Example: 9:00 am on Wednesday April 1. Until that time, you will be able to browse but you won't be able to select or add programs to your cart.

In cases of poor weather conditions, power outages, etc. classes may be cancelled. If the class is cancelled, a notice will be posted to the Municipality of Brockton Facebook & Instagram pages. Registered participants will be notified by email. 

If a class in a session is cancelled, every effort will be made to reschedule the class. In the event the class is not rescheduled credits will be applied to registered participants.
