  • Livestock Evaluator Expression of Interest

    The Municipality of Brockton is seeking individuals to serve as a Livestock Evaluator for the Municipality of Brockton, responsible under the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program to conduct a thorough investigation within 72 hours of being notified of livestock, poultry, and/or honey bees that have been damaged or killed by wildlife.   • Hanover/Walkerton Landfill - Temporary Closure
    Due to flooding over the entrance road, the Hanover/Walkerton Landfill Site will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18th.
    Note that garbage collection remains unaffected for Brant and Walkerton West tomorrow - timing of pickup will be affected due to the landfill and bridge closures.
  • Lobies Park Bridge Closure - March 17, 2025

    Both lanes of the Lobies Park Bridge along Yonge Street between Durham Street and Valleyside Drive, Walkerton are now closed to traffic due to flooding. The Municipality encourages residents to continue avoiding the area and follow alternative routes into Walkerton along Bruce Road 3 and/or Highway 9. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

  • Yonge Street (Lobies Park) Road Conditions - March 17, 2025
    Yonge Street from Brant-Walkerton Townline to Durham Street, Walkerton (Lobies Park) is experiencing some flooding. The Municipality asks that motorists please avoid the area.
    Since the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton is closed due to high-water levels and debris Bruce County have asked motorists to follow alternate detour routes. The Municipality encourages motorists to take the detour route along Bruce Road 3 to avoid the flooding at Lobies Park. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Durham St Bridge Closure - March 17, 2025

    As of 5:30 a.m. Bruce County have closed the Durham Street Bridge in Walkerton due high-water levels and large debris that have impacted the construction platform. The Durham Street Bridge will be closed to through traffic until further notice. Emergency vehicles (Fire, EMS & Police) will be permitted to use the bridge to respond to calls, as needed.

    Bruce County is advising motorists to utilize the posted Alternate Truck Routes for the duration of the Durham Street Bridge Closure.

  • Significant Weather Event Ended - February 19, 2025

    As of 4:30 p.m. today, February 19, 2025, the Municipality of Brockton has ended the Significant Weather Event. Caution should still be observed as regular maintenance activities are still occurring to return the roadway and sidewalk conditions to a state of repair.

     

     

  • Walkerton Snow Removal - February 20, 2025
    Municipal staff will be clearing excess snow from streets in Walkerton on Thursday, February 20, 2025 starting at 1:00 a.m. Please ensure all vehicles are off the roads to assist with snow clearing. Any vehicle obstructing the removal of snow will be towed at the owner’s expense. A reminder that Winter Parking Provisions remain in effect - No person may park on a highway between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the months of November to April.
